The Pave the Way: Mental Health Summit provides knowledge and empowerment about the importance of mental health. Educating our community (both on and off campus) by providing various resources from local organizations across the valley. We know how difficult it can be to ask for help.

Our goal is to provide a safe and comfortable environment for those who are interested in learning more.

Our purpose is to unite the community by bringing awareness to various stigmas and stereotypes that surround Mental Health. Join us as we learn more about this powerful topic and support our community.

Self-Care

Check out these tips!

  • Self-care can be challenging when you are on the front lines of something uncertain. Here are some self-care ideas to help you take care of yourself so you can take care of others. You can’t pour from an empty cup. Here’s how you can refill yours:
  • Sit and Do Nothing – take a minute or two (5 minutes if you can) and slow your breathing down (try six seconds in, four seconds out). Focus on your surroundings. Relax your shoulders and jaw. Say some affirmations to yourself such as “I brought my best today. What I did today was enough. I am always enough and always will be enough.”
  • Declutter Challenge: Challenge yourself! Set a timer for 5 minutes and pick one area of your house to clean and organize. You only have 5 minutes so act fast! Just decluttering one space a day to help ease your anxiety and clear your mind.
  • Can’t find time to meditate? Practice awareness on the way to work. Turn the music down. Pay attention to your posture, your hands on the steering wheel, how you are breathing. Take a few deep breaths and notice what you are seeing out the window. You might actually see something you never knew you saw on your way to work every day.
  • Shower meditation: When you enter the shower, focus on how the water is hitting your body; slow down your breathe. Imagine you are covered in mud and visualize the water washing away the mud (the gunk of the day). Add some essential oils or burn your favorite candle in the shower, while you wash the stress of the day away.

See you next year!

Thank you to EVERYONE who participated in this year’s summit. We could not have done this without you. Together we can overcome the stigmas that surround mental health.
